Our Leadership for the 2007 season!
Nelson (Director) has been directing since she founded camp in 1952. She has a BS
in Education from Boston University and is an American Camping
Association Certified Camp Director. She has been on the Certified Horsemanship Association Board for many years, and participated in Bi Centinal Trail Ride over the length of Vermont.
Jane Jones (Office Manager) started at Camp Catherine Capers in 1981 and has been keeping us organized ever since. She is responsible for all the camper records and bookeeping tasks. Both her daughter and grandaughter have attended Camp Catherine Capers. She is always ready to help parents when they call.
Chris Mattsson (Riding Director) is a CHA Master Level Instructor, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Studies from the University of Rhode Island, and a Masters Degree in Education focusing in Curriculum and Instruction from Castleton State College in Vermont. Chris has extensive experience competing and showing both English and Western in many disciplines. During the off season Chris is a professional snowboarding coach at Killington Mountain and a judge for the United States of America Snowboarding Association.
Lisa Davidson (Show Coach and Instructor) is a CHA Master Level Instructor, an eventer, and recently spent a week working with David and Karen O'Connor. She runs our show program and coaches the campers before and during the shows. Lisa has been with camp for the past ten years.
Laura Nelson (Program Director) is from a long time New Hampshire camping family and has been working in the youth education field for many years. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Wheelock College's School of Education. Laura has taught in Connecticut and has directed several day care centers in New Hampshire and Vermont. She presently lives with her husband and two children near Smuggler's Notch in Vermont where she works during the winters at the Smuggler's Notch child care facility introducing children to skiing. Laura has been on the camp staff leading a program for very young campers since 2004.
